NIO 333 has announced that Alex Hui will join as team principal of the Silverstone-based outfit with Russell O'Hagan working alongside as deputy team principal and chief operations officer.
Hui has been with the team since Brilliant in Excellence took ownership and management of NIO's ABB FIA Formula E Team in 2016. Initially, Hui was in place as a consultant then as executive director alongside CEO Vincent Wang.
He steps into the team principal role with experience as team boss of multiple title-winning toruing car outfit Teamwork Motorsport, CEO of motorsport engineering company and NIO 333 technical partner Gusto Engineering. Hui is also a title-winning racer himself.
"It is an honour to accept the position of team principal," said Hui. "I look forward to preparing the team for the new Gen3 era of Formula E with Vincent and Russell, while helping to deliver NIO 333’s best performance in the coming season.
"We are in the process of bringing the team towards the front of the grid and I am fully committed in supporting our colleagues to shorten this process. Together, we shall pursue not only on track improvements but also a new pathway to our sustainable future.”

Russell O'Hagan, an experienced engineer with a 20-year motorsport career, moves into the role of deputy team principal and chief operating officer of the team, having been acting team principal since Christian Silk's departure in August.
“We have an exciting time ahead as we continue to settle into our new HQ at Silverstone and push forward ever harder with our GEN 3 programme," said O'Hagan. "I am relishing the challenge of the new season, commencing with the pre-Season 8 test in Valencia next week, and to realising the fruits of our labour after a great team effort over the last six months.”
Further recruitment includes Gary Reynders, who joins in the role of chief mechanic from Williams Advanced Engineering/Jaguar Racing and veteran multi-series race engineer, Matt Beers.
