The competition steps up: Porsche and Mercedes-Benz hit the track

The most competitive line up in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship hits the track for the first time. Watch all 24 cars and drivers prepare for the most intense season yet. Buckle up, it's just beginning.

On the first morning of pre-season testing at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, TAG Heuer Porsche FE and Mercedes-Benz EQ hit the track for the very first time, completing the most competitive line up in the history of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

Building on 125 years of motorsport history, the mighty Silver Arrow name embarks on a new all-electric chapter in motorsport with championship-rookie Nyck de Vires and Stoffel Vandoorne getting to grips with the circuit behind the wheel of it's Formula E Challenger, the Silver Arrow 01.

For fellow Stuttgart marque Porsche, the German powerhouse breaks new ground with seasoned pro Andre Lotterer and Neel Jani. Despite a remarkable track record in racing, the team is starting from scratch. Will they impress or fail to make the grade?

With both teams new to the grid, Porsche and Mercedes join fellow German giants BMW and Audi as all four face each other on the track for the first time in a global single-seater championship.

With Jaguar, Mahindra, Nissan, NIO, DS and Venturi all building on seasons of experience, the competition in Formula E just got a whole lot more intense. Buckle up, sit back and watch the times roll in - we're just getting started.
