Enel, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of electricity and the world´s largest producer of renewable energy, is a key partner aligned with our focus on electric mobility, smart cities and the clean energy revolution.
Enel is helping cut emissions associated with the staging and powering of Formula E events through its smart energy solutions. Starting from season two, Enel developed a fully digitized next-generation micro-grid for Formula E that provides clean energy for the events, helping the entire championship to eventually achieve carbon neutral status.
Alongside Enel, emissions from the season four inaugural race in New York were offset, making it the first ever zero-emission event in the history of the championship. The E-Prix was offset with green certificates from Enel’s portfolio of renewable energy plants, including the Enel Green Power Stipa Nayaa 74 MW wind farm in Mexico. The wind turbines at Stipa Nayaa prevent the emission of over 133,000 tonnes of CO2 per year, which is the equivalent of taking 26,000 cars off the road.
DHL, the Official Logistics Partner of the electric street racing series and founding partner of the FIA Formula E Championship, announced it aims to reduce all logistics-related emissions to net-zero by the year 2050.
Since the start of Formula E, Michelin has been our trusted technical partner. They developed special tyres that can race in many conditions and last the entire race. This was a breakthrough in motorsport as in most other racing series the tyres are changed depending on the conditions.
