After making his debut in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with US team Dragon, the German driver moves to BMW i Andretti Autosport for his second season in the all-electric championship.

Fresh from a season in Formula 2 with BWT Arden, Guenther made his debut in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship with Dragon after serving as the team's reserve driver in the 2017/18 season. Ahead of the 2019/20 season, Geunther moved to BMW i Andretti Autosport. Prior to joining the championship full-time, the German driver took part in the Formula E rookie test in Marrakesh in early 2018, sharing the no.6 seat with Antonio Fuoco at pre-season testing in Valencia ahead of the 2018/19 season.

Born in Oberstdorf in 1997, Guenther began his racing career in karts at the age of 10. After three years, the German driver progressed to the world of open-wheel racing in 2011 in the Formula BMW Talent Cup. In 2013, Guenther competed in ADAC Formel Masters from ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V., ending the season second. In 2015, Guenther made his debut in the European Formula 3 with Mucke Motorsport before joining Prema Powerteam in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he finished a respectable fifth on the testing street circuit of the Macau Grand Prix before moving up to Formula 2 in 2018, joining BWT Arden.

Competing in 10 races with Dragon in the 2018/19 season, Guenther finished the campaign in 17th after making it into Super Pole twice. Now challenging for the title with BMW, the youngest driver on the grid could be in contention for the championship title.
